Loved the food and restaurant vibes here. Big bar, very nice decor. Great spot to have lunch or dinner. Loved the fajita style tacos and will be back to try more.
WAY OVERPRICED.
Inside decor was nice, and spotlessly clean.
Background music was 1950s and 60s twangy country music - not even Mexican or Latino.
I'm not paying $60 for fajitas, not happening.
On the plus side, they had a large alcohol selection to take your mind off the insanely high food prices.
Superica in Strawberry Hill has been open for a few years and offers upscale Tex-Mex food. It’s open for lunch and dinner daily with brunch on weekends. There’s an outdoor patio to go along with a large indoor dining room and full bar. We’ve had dinner at this location 3-4 times and the food is consistent. Chips come out quickly, are light and crisp and their accompanying salsas are very good.
We’ve tried a good portion of the menu and some of the app highlights include the Flautas, Chicken Nachos and Guacamole. Our entree favorites include The Steak Tampiquena, Chalupa Dinner, Chicken Mole Enchiladas and the Tacos Al Carbon.
Cocktails are fine. They offer a few different types of high end margaritas but lack the basics like blended strawberry. I get it - you don’t want a blender blasting away in a stylish bar but still. Also, there’s more ice in their house Margarita than I’d prefer
Service, while friendly, can be spotty at times. On most of our visits items we’ve ordered have been forgotten or the wrong/different dish was brought to the table. They are accommodating and will rectify things if necessary.
Parking is easy in the shopping center. The wait times can be long on weekends but you can use their website to join a waitlist. The place is kid friendly as well. Finally, the price point at Superica is high. A group of four with appetizers, a few rounds of cocktails and entrees will run you 200+ easy. If that’s your consistent range, have at it. Overall the place is good. With some adjustments it could be better.
Friendly staff and management, really nice atmosphere. Tacos are very large portions as well as the salads. Chips and salsa are great!
Quick Take: good, but definitely a NC take on TexMex.
Had the Chicken Tacos Carbon, which were tasty as the chicken was roasted, though a bit dry. Adding in salsa definitely helped but it really needs to come with a side of sour cream. The beans were awesome! However, as per the NC norm there is no real spicy hot salsa, so do ask for the house "sauce" for a little kick. I'll be sure to stop in again and try something else.
The restaurant looks the upscale TexMex part with a nice long bar. That's where I had lunch and was treated wonderful by bartender Kristen - she was awesome!
WARNING: I do not consider the prices inexpensive.
Love love love superica! The food is sooooo goooood. The staff are not rude but not very friendly either but that will not stop me from coming back
Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Hostess was very helpful and informative about the company and the menu. Waitress was also helpful in making a decision. Ordered steak quesadilla and chorizo, potatoes, and egg breakfast. Also ordered one pancake which was as big as the plate. Great homemade syrup. The waitress brought out chips and two salsa and avocado dips. OMG! Delicious!!
My dear family invited me to this restaurant for a lunch celebration on Veterans Day! During our meal, I was blessed with a beautiful card with penned words of gratitude from the restaurant staff, along with a gift card for a free quesadilla. I was also personally visited by Chef Bobby Burns, extending his heartfelt gratitude and words of appreciation for my military service. It was so wonderful to be surrounded by patrons who support Veteran’s alike. My family was truly honored and I was blessed beyond measure. We will definitely continue to visit this establishment in the near future. Thank you for your excellent customer service and southern hospitality. What a glorious experience!!
